They have been cultivated for thousands of years and have been a staple food for many cultures. Today, countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Tunisia are also among the largest producers of dates.

How the Bear Got the Date

The history of its creation

The origin of the name "DATTELBÄR" is closely linked to the beginnings of Dominik Gräf's date distribution business in Vienna. As enthusiasm for the Sukkary dates he imported grew, Dominik began to organize bulk orders for friends and acquaintances. To cope with demand, he set up a mobile collection station - his trunk in Vienna. Dominik's striking appearance at the time, with long hair and a full beard, shaped the image of this collection station. In one of these moments, he was called "DATTELBÄR" by an enthusiastic customer as she picked up her order. This nickname reflected not only his outward appearance, but also the warmth and naturalness with which he ran his business. This incident marked the beginning of DATTELBÄR as a brand.
